On the table: Green Corner
Elizabeth and Colleen Murzyn are sisters, certified yoga instructors, and juice freaks. And while they can't make you their sister, they can at least try to get you on board with the juice thing. The pair is opening Green Corner ("It's on the corner," Elizabeth explains of the origin of the name), a juice bar, in what used to be the clothing store Malabar in Bucktown. "There's a market in Chicago for cleanses," she explains, which have taken off in Los Angeles and New York, but are less popular in the Midwest. Still, Green Corner isn't just for New Agers—it will be a casual, grab-and-go juice shop, with 8–10 different juices (such as kale-cucumber-parsley-lemon-apple) as well as a design-your-own option, plus muffins and other pastries sourced from a yet-to-be-determined local bakery. There will also be some informational materials available...for those who want to go to the next step.
Green Corner, slated to open in June at 1800 N Damen Ave (no phone yet).
