While its name literally mirrors Moto—chef Homaro Cantu’s hyper-modern science lab of a restaurant—Otom’s menu doesn’t exactly reflect the extraterrestrial creations or sky-high prices of its adjacent sibling. This place is more casual and laid-back, and the magic here is in chef Thomas Elliott Bowman’s rehashing of low-brow, classic dishes. So there is mac and cheese on the menu, but it is andouille sausage with anise mac and cheese. You won’t get the full Moto experience, but you don’t pay the full prices, either.
