Zoba Noodle Bar

Just say the words “fresh noodles” and we’re there. Clearly that’s the draw to this noodle house in the former Vive la Crêpe space. But be warned that aside from the silky pan-Asian wheat noodles, this Evanston joint struggles with the basics. Problems include flavorless proteins (beef, chicken, etc.), simple soups that are one-note, and apps that are of the bought-and-fried variety. So stick with the stir-fried housemade noodles (“Zo’s Crazy” combo of broccoli, egg, mushroom and bell pepper is tasty) and hope the rest of the game gets stepped up.
