The hand-formed burgers and fresh-cut fries at this wildly popular Virginia-based chain are good enough to counter the painful combo of office-bright lighting, stark white-and-red decor and kitschy sacks of potatoes scattered about. Burgers are juicy, double-patty affairs that can be ordered with all manner of gratis toppings (grilled ’shrooms and onions, A-1 sauce, even jalapeños). Perfectly crispy fries come piping hot in their own paper bag, regular or Cajun-style (just a sprinkling of Old Bay).

Double burger no cheese, with bacon and a side of fries. The cost came out to $9.60. No drink either. This is definitely not cheap. Not sure how you came up with five bucks for the average meal.

They open late on Friday and Saturday. Skip the fries, and stick with the burgers. Is that shiitake mushrooms? Good.
