RPM is built for glamour: It’s got a stylish room, a blazer-clad army of servers and a crowd of thirty- and fortysomething scenesters hoping to catch a glimpse of partners Bill and Giuliana Rancic. RPM is also built for food, or so it would seem by the credentials of chef-partner Doug Psaltis. But aside from fantastic cocktails (the effervescent Negroni Sbagliato), very good desserts (chocolate hazelnut tartufo) and an excellent Caesar wedge salad, to eat at RPM is to trudge through an exercise in mediocrity. An expensive one at that.
