This is the second restaurant from Yamandu Perez, who owned the former Hinsdale restaurant Zak’s Place. Chefs Tom Van Lente and Kevin Cuddihee’s menu changes often, but in the past we’ve been impressed with tender grilled octopus set on a tomato sauce that smartly uses the texture of pistachios to solicit interest. Thyme flavors halibut resting on creamed corn, as well as cavatelli in pork bolognese sauce. There’s a nice meal to be had in a nice space, even when dishes stand on solid execution and not sexiness.
