Bad sushi is sort of like pornography: You know it when you see it. And you'll probably see it at Jellyfish in the form of chewy, off-putting shrimp and blunt-cut, watery-tasting tuna. Somehow, the restaurant has even less of a grip on non-sushi dishes: A tuna appetizer is dominated by punishing jalapeño heat; for dessert, there’s a dense, disastrous flan. True, there is something eminently rad about Jellyfish as a space—its wild decor, posh address and designer uniforms. But the room's eerie, unflattering blue light and icy temperature will make you wonder if anybody considered what it'd actually be like to eat in here.
