True, this restaurant in the Omni Hotel might appeal more to tourists than locals, but that doesn’t mean you have to be from Pittsburgh to enjoy a window seat overlooking the Mag Mile madness, a glass of wine and enough surprisingly good snacks to build a meal out of. Comfort-classic entrées are fine, but the “tastes” and “sharables” suit us better—a charcuterie plate of speck, prosciutto, Morbier and Brie; a nugget of crispy-edged pork belly with pear slaw; seared foie in golden raisin pesto; and a sea salt cone of o-toro tuna dolloped with avocado mousse. Just skip the sticky-sweet martinis; get your sugar hit from the classic cheesecake instead.
