Top Chef heartthrob Fabio Viviani is behind this behemoth restaurant, and that explains everything: the hand-pulled mozzarella, the housemade pastas and the very large, very smitten and mostly female crowds. Some of this food is revelatory (see the toothsome pasta bolognese, or the crisp pizzas), but most of it is packed with big, blunt, easy-to-like flavors like oven-roasted tomatoes and, in the cocktails, sugar. Expect food that’s easy to like, but hard to call “nuanced.”
