5 apps to turn your iPhone into an aye-yay-yayPhone
Strike a new pose with ikamasutra. With hundreds of illustrated sex positions at your fingertips, the ikamasutra ($2.99, limited free version) puts the missionary position to shame. Find a position based on mood and keep track of your recently tried maneuvers. Lacking confidence? Get step-by-step instructions for hitting it out of the park. There’s even a built-in option to post your progress and the positions you’ve tried on Twitter and Facebook, for all you exhibitionists.
Gear up for group sports. The Sexytime Sex Position Guide and Choreographer app ($1.99) takes individual and group play up a notch with illustrated positions that make sure everyone’s in on the fun. (Geared toward straight players, but useful inspiration for gays.)
Try MyVibe. It saddens us to say that using this free app that turns your iPhone into a discreet on-the-go pocket vibrator probably won’t get your rocks off—it lacks the intensity. But it can serve as a sultry tease if the real thing isn’t handy. Discreetly plow through 100 pleasure settings (the lower-right side is most intense) while on the train, in a meeting or at your desk.
Pop some virtual Viagra. The Sex Drive app ($1.99) makes sounds like a plane gearing up for takeoff, which are supposed to awaken the sexual part of your brain, leaving you in a relaxed yet sexually excited state. If you’re looking for a quick and rough romp between the sheets, this so-called virtual Viagra is definitely a buzzkill, but an option worth saving for a night of slow, sensual, ahem, lovemaking.
Be a player with the Party Sex Game. Miss the days of playing spin the bottle? Take it to an adult level with this app (99 cents) that lets you insert a bit of spontaneous sexual fun with a partner or with a group. Input the names of up to ten participants of any sex, add your body parts and action commands to the rather tame (by our standards) preset options, and let the sexual roulette begin. The app will randomly pick two partners, designate a body part, prescribe an action such as licking, kissing or fondling, and give the mandatory duration for the action to take place (usually less than a minute). —Mark Bieganski
