Chicago optimistically embraced the natural signifiers of spring arrival this weekend with an explosion of flower shows and a smattering of fashion events—despite temperatures that suggested winter wasn't letting us go anytime soon. The most optimistic of them all, one of Chicago's biggest seasonal society events, featured models strutting the runway wearing clothes almost entirely made from flowers. The annual Fleurotica Fashion Show boasted a pricey ticket ($175)—but posh partiers found it well worth if for the experience of cocktailing amid floral designs from dozens of local artists.
It's okay to be a show-off.
