A couple of shoe events you need to know about this week

It's a good week to be a shoe hoarder because we found a couple of shoe-related shopping events happening in Chicago over the next couple of days:
City Soles nickel sale Time to clear out your change purse: This popular sale in Wicker Park is back. Buy one pair of shoes at full price, and you can get a second pair (of equal or lesser value) for just five cents. The semi-annual sale lasts from open until close for just one day only: Thursday July 12 (tomorrow!). Obviously, you want to plan on getting there on the early side for the best selection. 2001 W North Ave (773-489-2001). Thu 12, 10am–7pm.
BucketFeet pop-up shop Local shoe line BucketFeet has found a temporary home within Bucktown men's shop Apartment Number 9. The shoes (artistic canvas kicks like the ones pictured above) come in slip-on or lace-up styles and will be available in the shop through August 14. The kickoff event for the pop-up is Saturday July 14, and will feature a live painting demo by BucketFeet artist Jesse "Dense83" Greene as well as free PBR and Big Star (!) tacos. Plus, you'll get $15 off a pair of shoes during the event. Sounds like the perfect pitstop on the way to Pitchfork. 1804 N Damen Ave (773-395-2999). Sat 14, noon–5pm.

It's okay to be a show-off.
