Chicago street style: Jaye Brown
Local musician Jaye Brown just likes to dress how he feels—and doesn’t like his outfits to match.
What were you thinking about when you were getting dressed today?
I knew it was going to be hot, so I wanted to wear something loose. I picked some rugged jeans with a few tears in there to get the air flowing. I’m not really matching. I don’t think that’s really in anymore. I just dress how I feel, and it ends up being fashionable.
How do you describe your style?
I don’t know how I would personally describe it, but how I heard it described by others is “kind of European” and “fresh.”
What are some of your favorite stores?
I love G-Star. Urban Outfitters every now and again. I like going to thrift stores…that’s my hidden secret.
Favorite thrift store?
The Brown Elephant on the North Side. You know what I’m talking about.
