Barneys New York (15 E Oak St, 312-587-1700)
In this season’s sea of polka-dot prints and bright-colored pants, these monochromatic ensembles are a refreshing change perfectly offset by the minimalist lighting.
    We’d break the window
for That belted black dress. Everyone can use another timeless LBD, right?

    Hermès (25 E Oak St, 312-787-8175)
The sherbet fabric spilling from the white lacquered drawers almost makes the pristine Hermès store look unintimidating and inviting. Almost.
    We’d break the window for
The dresser. We know it’s probably not for sale, but it’s just what our midcentury-modern-adorned bedroom is missing.

    Moncler (33 E Oak St, 312-361-8573)
This shop must be clued in to the fact that every summer we vow to spend quality time with a boat owner. We’re digging the sweet DIY waves and preppy nautical style with the Parisian-inspired striped shirts. But what’s with the ski caps?
    We’d break the window for
The red toggle jacket. It’d be perfect for evenings out on the lake.

    Ted Baker (1009 N Rush St, 312-255-0290)
This British import is still celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee. We say keep the party going—especially when a sale is involved.
    We’d break the window for
How much is that doggie in the window? The 50% OFF sign is enticing, but the Corgis get us every time.

    Urban Outfitters (935 N Rush St, 312-640-1919)
Looks like a craft session at summer camp, thanks to the paper streamers and the racks full of cutoff shorts and midriff-baring tanks.
    We’d break the window for
The tank top seems to be the it shirt this season. We’ll stock up on as many as we can.
