This year finds Macy’s Glamorama in a new location: the Harris Theater in Millennium Park. Even though the space is a bit smaller (compared to the massive Chicago Theatre, where the event’s previously been held), we’re still expecting a big show. The sleek production’s theme this year is “British Invasion,” so look for a runway show that nods to a swinging, mod London (we wouldn’t be surprised to see a Beatles cover band and some Twiggy-esque models) mixed in with fall fashions from Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Madonna’s Material Girl line and more. The show’s also known for featuring big-name performers (Beyoncé, Cee Lo Green), and this year doesn’t disappoint with Robin Thicke and up-and-comers Karmin. Neither act is British, but Karmin does say cheerio in its song “Brokenhearted,” so, um, that counts, right? Ticket sales benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Harris Theater at Millennium Park, 205 E Randolph Dr (312-334-7777). Fri 10 at 8pm. $50–$1,000 at ronaldhousechicago.org and the theater box office.
