Chicagoans kick off Fashion's Night Out 2012 with a runway show at the 900 Shops.
Fashion’s Night Out
Born in New York in 2009, FNO—a one-night celebration in September during which stores throw parties and offer sales—launched in Chicago in 2010, alongside FNOs in a handful of other cities. Back then, it was just a few shops trying to boost the economy. Now, the concept has evolved into a full-blown citywide fiesta, with makeovers and manis at the 900 Shops, Bucktown boutiques hawking giveaways with purchase, bloggers doling out styling tips at stores around town and Champagne flowing all night long. Props to the city that’s tormented for not having enough fashion sense: Chicago goes all out for Fashion’s Night Out. Various locations.—Jessica Herman
