In your roles as creative directors at Helmut Lang, you’re doing a personal appearance at Nordstrom on March 21. Do you do a lot of these meet-and-greets?
Nicole Colovos We’ve never done them before! We’re just starting to do them. We’re doing Chicago and then Toronto. We love the opportunity to connect with the costumers. Spring is quite a different season for us, in terms of the direction that we took, so it will be great to talk to people [about that].

You guys have been with Helmut Lang for around six years. How’s it going?
NC It’s really great. We’re starting to do runway shows now, so the business is getting bigger. We were one of the first days [of New York Fashion Week], so the rest of Fashion Week was quite quiet for us.

You’ll be talking spring when you’re here next week. What are some standout items from the collection?
NC We have this really great leather jacket. It’s a paneled leather jacket that’s combo-ed with canvas. It comes in black or a taupe, which is really cool. We have some new pants and some really cool takes on T-shirts. Look for sheer sleeves and a lacquered, modern front.
