The Get Holiday Gift Guide

What I want...
Garmin’s FR60 ($199) is to exercise what the iPhone is to everyday life: the ultimate multifunctional gadget. The überlight, 41-gram watch (plus foot pod) not only monitors your heart rate and tracks your time, distance, pace and calories burned while you’re running or riding your bike on the lake path, but it also syncs with cross-training machines at the gym so you can use it during your spinning class or on the elliptical. Once you get home, it wirelessly transmits the workout data to your computer—so you can really geek out and track your progress. Plus, it comes in a cute lilac color. Yes, please! What I’m giving...
I have a half dozen friends and coworkers who have really gotten into running this year. To keep their pavement-pounding buzz going strong, I’d love to give them a gift card to NIKEiD.com ($115), where they can design their own sneakers. Site users choose a model (I recommend the Air Pegasus +26 as a great all-around running shoe), then decide on every aesthetic detail—from shoelace color to the hue of the swoosh. The coolest part? You can personalize the tongue of each shoe with up to six letters. So. Rad. NIKEiD.com
