Fashion's night out
Last year, Vogue, New York designers and stores teamed up for one night, offering discounts to give the economy a boost. This year, Chicago is getting in on Fashion’s Night Out, which takes place Friday 10. Here’s a roundup of 2010’s participants:
Blake Standard Local womenswear designer Pierre Colorado is celebrating the arrival of his fall shipments to four boutiques by treating customers who purchase fall pieces to $10 restaurant gift certificates. Perchance (3512 N Southport Ave, 773-244-1300) purchases earn one for Southport Grocery, Kaveri (1211 W Webster Ave, 773-296-2141) customers get $10 to Kith & Kin, Cinnamon (2104 W Roscoe St, 773-281-2466) buyers get a credit for Volo, and Riley (1659 N Damen Ave, 773-489-0101) shoppers are rewarded with a gift card to Feast. Macy’s at Water Tower Place Lush Cosmetics is providing shoppers with mini spa treatments. Also, visit the Impulse department to receive special gifts when you purchase Joe’s Jeans and other designer goods. Macy’s on State Street Bravo fans should visit this Macy’s outpost. Vicki Gunvalson, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, will be on hand to pass out copies of her book, More Than a Housewife, to customers who spend more than $75. Neiman Marcus 190 North’s Michelle Alegria is hosting a fall trends fashion show at 7pm. Plus, guests can enjoy Estée Lauder makeovers and meet shoe designer Taryn Rose. 737 N Michigan Ave (312-642-5900, neimanmarcus.com). 6–8pm.
