Organic Anti Aging Pumpkin Spice facial at the Spa at Dana
The Spa at Dana’s new pumpkin facial incorporates many fall flavors.

I thought I’d be craving a pumpkin spice latte after trying out this new 50-minute facial at the Spa at Dana. Instead, I walked away with a hankering for a Thanksgiving feast. The organic anti-aging pumpkin spice facial incorporates so many delicious- smelling flavors that it’s probably not wise to enter the spa on an empty stomach. The sensational scents start right away as my aesthetician applies a cranberry-pomegranate cleanser. Every product used during this treatment is organic, so the cranberry notes here aren’t overly sugary—just slightly tart and very fresh. Next up is the pumpkin enzyme exfoliator. It’s left on my face for about ten minutes while I’m treated to a mini neck and upper back massage. The product creates a gentle tingly sensation (which means it’s working on fine lines and sun spots), but it’s not powerful enough to stop me from daydreaming about a slice of pumpkin pie sprinkled with cinnamon. She then applies a soothing seaweed mask (don’t worry, this doesn’t cause me to fantasize about sushi) and massages my hands and arms to wrap up the service. By the end of the treatment, my skin is glowing and I feel refreshed—and starving. Available at the Spa at Dana (660 N State St, 312-202-6064). $135 for 50 minutes; the service includes a complimentary pumpkin mask to take home ($15 value).
