Book a bike

SPIN CITY I got hooked on spinning back in May when I started training for a triathlon. The only problem, I discovered, was the pressure of hustling to the gym in time to sign up for a bike. On many occasions, I missed that magic window before class—and all the bikes were accounted for. After all day of looking forward to a great workout of turbo-pedaling, I had to choose a different form of cardio. But Equinox has solved that problem for cycling nuts, and just in time for the winter rush of indoor exercisers. Its new, teched-out website allows members to book a bike up to 26 hours before class—you can even request a text-message reminder. And should your plans change, you’re allowed to nix your rez up to 35 minutes before class. For spinning addicts like me, this low-stress way to clinch a great workout is a dream come true. Available at Equinox gyms throughout the city, equinoxfitness.com.
