What it is lifetherapy, a new line of body-care products created by boutique owner and restaurateur Lynette Lovelace
Who she is Prior to opening Embrace Boutique & Bistro (29 E 1st St, 630-325-1996) in Hinsdale in 2005 (she owned Kokopelli boutique and restaurant for 15 years before that), Lovelace trademarked the name lifetherapy about five years ago with plans to launch the collection of body-care goods. “I have a passion for products and knew that’s the direction I wanted to go,” she says. After a chance encounter with a fragrance mixologist at a Starbucks, the line came into fruition this year with the launch of pulse-point oils and hand creams. Lovelace plans to introduce body creams and hand soaps to the collection in 2009. After that, candles, clothing and a stand-alone lifetherapy boutique are in the works.
Why we like it With scent names like “Vacation” (featuring hints of coconut, white orchid and sandalwood), “Play” (red orange and jasmine) and “Escape” (pineapple and gardenia), the products offer a whimsical take on body-care goods in sleek packaging. The creams ($26) contain grape-seed and sunflower-seed oils as well as jojoba esters for skin conditioning and enhanced moisturization. The fragrances in the roll-on pulse point oils ($48) are long-lasting and alcohol free.
Where to find it The line is available at Embrace, E Street Denim (1876 E 1st St, Highland Park, 847-433-8338) and lifetherapy.com.
