Shred415
A road runner gets hooked on a treadmill class.
The allure of Shred415
A devotee explains her addiction.
When I started Shred415 in May, I was huffing and puffing and couldn’t make it through the whole class. The entire first month I don’t think I made it through a class without walking. But all of the instructors are so motivating, and so was meeting people who were achieving their goals. Now I go four to five times a week, sometimes six. Sometimes on the treadmill you say to yourself, I cannot do another sprint or another hill—but then you can think, Two more minutes and I’m going to be on the floor again doing some weight training or sit-ups. I’ve never had arms like this, ever. And I’ve lost a lot of weight. I feel strong. I feel confident. As a mom of two boys, running around all the time, people are always asking, “How do you have energy?” I have so much more energy now to do what I want to with them. My son goes, “Mommy, you’re so strong!” I’m like, Yeah, baby, I am!—Cynthia Langtiw, as told to Marissa Conrad
