September 2013 events calendar for Chicago
Plan your September in Chicago with our events calendar of the best activities, including free things to do, festivals and our picks from theater, the arts and music.
Summer is on it's way out. Hate to say it, but the autumnal equinox, the official start of fall, is September 22. There's plenty to do to make the most of the season's waning days. Early in the month, the A.V. Fest/Hideout Block Party goes down at Hideout, L.A.-based artist Paul Sietsema gets a show at the MCA and chillwave poster boy Washed Out hits Metro. Mid month, art blowout Expo Chicago returns to Navy Pier. Closing out the month is the xx at Aragon and Lionel Richie with his All the Hits All Night Long tour at United Center. September also offers the chance to wring out the last of the street festivals: Renegade Craft Fair, 79th Street Renaissance Festival and the Design Harvest Fest are among the best of the remaining fests.
