Get on the ball Let your freak flag fly before Halloween at Haunted Trails Amusement Park in Burbank (7759 S Harlem Ave, 708-598-8580). The year-round park has a mini-golf course decked out with spooky decor like a huge skull that gobbles your ball on the 18th hole (but hit it down the middle, and you win a free game); an arcade where you can “electrocute” yourself in a chair and score a buttload of tickets; a go-cart track; and yes, a haunted house (you pay a separate price for each attraction). We dug the two-person (and $2) Mad Wave Motion Theater arcade “ride” that simulated a crazy cart trip through caverns and churches hot on the entrails—er, trail—of a cart occupied by Elvira herself.
