Leaders of the pack

Unfortunately, Dubya won’t be attending the International Leadership Association’s eighth annual global conference—it would probably do us all some good. The four-day event kicks off Thursday 2 and features speakers such as Mark Gerzon, the former consultant to Newt Gingrich who wrote Leading Through Conflict: How Successful Leaders Transform Differences into Opportunity; and Pulitzer Prize–winning author James MacGregor Burns, who wrote Running Alone: Presidential Leadership—JFK to Bush II—Why It Has Failed and How We Can Fix It. Students can attend on Saturday 4 for $75; if the four-day $550 nonmember fee is too steep, visit www.ila-net.org for more reading-list material.—Leah Pietrusiak
