We love: Facets Cinematheque

We don't love its unforgiving seats.

We’re big fans of Facets and its tireless dedication to features and docs from off the beaten path. This fall’s midnight-movie series has been inspired. But the seats? Let’s just say that, based on our experience, the Spanish Inquisition would sigh with envy. Yes, they’re old-time theater seats. Apparently, people used to endure lower-back pain for the love of movies. Don’t expect Facets to throw a lot of money at new seats—management declined to comment for this article, which suggests cushiony comfort is a long way off.
In the meantime Avail yourself of Facets’ remarkable video collection and rent something you can watch from your soft, soft couch.
