Write your future
Seasoned journalists can now augment their skill set with a fast-tracked Master’s Program for Experienced Professionals at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Launched in 2009, this three-quarters–long accelerated program offers a curriculum more flexible than its standard program—perfect for mid-career writers with specific career goals, like boning up on digital media or preparing for a role in media management. For more information, visit medill.northwestern.edu or call 847-467-1882.

Go green and go home
When it comes to interior design and construction, going green could help you earn more green. Learn the principles of energy-efficient building through DePaul University’s brand-new, ten-session program offering a Certificate in Sustainability, Design and Construction. Classes will also prepare students for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate exam. For more information, call Chris Green, director of New Programs, at 312-362-8916 or e-mail cgreen1@depaul.edu.

Produce department
Behind every great, commercially viable motion picture is a producer who knows how to secure financing, work with writers and directors and stick to a production schedule. That could be you. New this year, Columbia College offers a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Producing: a two-year program that teaches skills ranging from story development to marketing your film. For more information, visit colum.edu or call 312-369-7260.

Uncook the books
First came Enron, followed by AIG and the dastardly Bernie Madoff with his Ponzi scheme. The next corporate scandal could be just around the corner. Learn how to sniff out the money trail in courses including Fraud Examination and Computer Forensics through two new programs at Roosevelt University. Earn a graduate certificate in Business Fraud Examination (a five-course, 15-semester-hour program), or go all the way for a Master's of Science in Accounting Forensics (ten three-hour courses). Learn more at roosevelt.edu or call 312-341-3500.
