Wednesday's best bets: Earth, Country & Western Dance Classes
MUSIC - Earth
Dylan Carlson’s shaken off the doom and distortion since forming Earth in 1989, dialing down the volume and turning up the twang. The drones, however, remain intact, undulating endlessly. It’s not so much a risk as a refinement for Carlson, who’s slowly introduced folk and country textures. The wheels of time seem to move slower than ever on the new Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light 1, a gorgeous and haunting album of ambient Americana. Mayne Stage, 8:30pm, $15.
ART & DESIGN - “Anne Tyng: Inhabiting Geometry”
Architect Tyng, 92, has long been overshadowed by the late Louis I. Kahn, with whom she collaborated on several projects. This engaging survey of Tyng’s designs and theories, which includes sculptures visitors can walk inside, will help restore credit where it’s due. Graham Foundation (4 W Burton Pl, 312-787-4071, grahamfoundation.org). 11am–5pm. FREE.

Minneapolis young gun Bogtrotter rounds out the top slots. Local support comes from Spankalicious, Nameloc, Bandit, Heezy, Mohawk, Subnoxious and Picky Pablano.
