Rahm gets into the Halloween spirit with zombie el ride

Earlier today, the Chicago Mayor's Office posted the photo above to the mayor's official Facebook page with no explanation other than the following caption: "In case of a zombie apocalypse, remember to stay calm like Rahm. Have a happy and safe Halloween, Chicago!"

So, was this photo staged? Or did Rahm Emanuel happen to board the el in the midst of a Halloween zombie flash mob? Perhaps they were actual zombies? Maybe the mayor's taking over for Rob Zombie and will now call himself Rahm Zombie? Photoshop all the way? (The handsome zombie directly behind Rahm is tagged on Facebook as Scott Lyon; his info page is protected.)

When I posted the photo to my Facebook page, a friend posited: "Those aren't zombies. They are protesters after being beaten out of Grant Park."

What's your theory? Mine is that this is a scene similar to those I have regularly encountered on the el over the years. Just another day in the city. Happy Halloween...
