Former Chicago Cub Kerry Wood will partake in another ball game: bowling. Wood and his wife Sarah will host their popular Kerry Wood’s Strike Zone Celebrity Bowling Tournament on June 27 from 7:30–10:30pm at 10pin Bowling Lounge (330 N State St) to benefit the Wood Family Foundation. The Wood Family Foundation works to improve the lives of children in and around Chicago and acts as an advocate for children in the Chicago community, inspiring others to join them in their mission of giving children the resources they need to succeed. 

Most of the 2012 Chicago Cubs roster will be in attendance and act as celebrity bowling captains and guest bartenders throughout the night. Participants will bowl for bragging rights and prizes while enjoying food, cocktails, raffles and a live auction.  

The silent auction for the event is already underway and anyone interested in checking out the items has until 10pm on June 26 to submit their final offers online at WoodFamilyFoundation.org. The auction will continue live at the event. Items up for auction include: a Cubs-themed golf cart signed by the team, autographed memorabilia including a Tony Esposito Blackhawks jersey and numerous game-used Cubs items, plus experiences such as a fishing trip with Wood, bowling with Epstein, throwing out the first pitch at Wrigley, tickets to a taping of Saturday Night Live and much more!
