The Comedy Evening This Lincoln Park stand-up night might just be our new favorite room. The lineup is varied and often full of surprises, and the musical intros by DJ Nate Burrows are a nice touch. Wise Fools Pub. 9pm.

Salonathon Jane Beachy invites the city's strangest and queerest performers and provocateurs to take over West Town. Folks like Big Dipper, Jyldo, DAAN and Trandroid have so far kept this party weird and wonderful. Beauty Bar. 9pm.
Carolina Chocolate Drops The Carolina Chocolate Drops are an excellent young roots-music trio from North Carolina whose members trained under traditional-fiddle legend Joe Thompson. We're talking old, old Americana—overalls, jugs and washboards. Now with a Grammy under its collective belt (for Genuine Negro Jig), the band works 2012's Leaving Eden, produced by Buddy Miller (Emmylou Harris, Robert Plant, Solomon Burke). The troupe conducts writing workshops with CPS grade school students by day, then transforms the kids’ stories into hilarious or heartfelt skits and songs, performed with abandon by a spirited ensemble.
