The Lollapalooza fence ain't nothin' to mess with: photos
Is this weekend a NATO summit or Lollapalooza?
You'd be forgiven for thinking it's the former, high-security event if you've seen all the barriers crews have erected around Grant Park over the past couple days. In an attempt to deter fence-jumpers, a security concern at Lollapalooza in past years, the sold-out three-day fest's organizer C3 Presents has put up eight-foot steel fences surrounding the festival grounds. Just beyond those barricades are six-foot chainlink fences. It seems getting into Lolla without a ticket is going to be like escaping from Alcatraz. Posted signs read Fence Jumping & Trespassing Prohibited Violators Subject to Prosecution and Removal From Park. So before you storm the gates, Lolla-crashers, maybe think twice if Mumford & Sons is really worth all the legal trouble. Or even a sprained ankle.
