We called it

Nobody likes an I-told-you-so-er, but in this case, we can't help it.
About a year ago, TOC editors and political writer Edward McClelland came up with eight reasons why liberals need to calm the hell down, because Obama was guaranteed to win. Each of our eight reasons (Mitt's a stiff; he has the country's changing demographics on his side) proved true, except for the eighth: that Obama had the campaign-cash advantage. In hindsight, maybe we should have predicted that Moneybags Romney would end up raising more money than Obama. But just like Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon—who spent $97 million only to lose in Connecticut by a landslide—learned, money certainly can't buy you everything.
