eXXXtacy at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center: NSFW photo gallery
Photos: Evan Jenkins A massive gathering of porn stars, adult film companies, sex toy makers and the randy consumers who love 'em, Exxxtacy hit the O'Hare area this past weekend and from the looks of it, didn't it play it safe one bit. The almost anything goes booths offered all kinds of samples and products for a price—the fest even had its own strip club. TOC's Evan Jenkins was on hand to shoot the sex biz bonanza. Some first-hand observations from the convention: • There was a huge sports memorabilia convention taking place on the level below exxxtacy. One of the Convention center employees laughed as he told us about perplexed families walking into the wrong convention hall from the parking garage walkways that connected the buildings. • The crowd was overwhelming made up of grown men. The modest turn-out and centralized booth offerings meant that basically the same people were continually orbiting the same area. • Almost every vendor was selling the following: photographs of the porn star exhibiting, autographed photo of the porn star exhibiting, Photo op with porn star, photo op with topless porn star, or autographed topless photo with porn star. All of these were sold predominately in increments of $5 with the cheapest being $5 and the most expensive being $25. The deluxe, autographed, topless photo of you and your favorite porn star, was usually the top seller. • Lap dances were readily available in more places than just Pink Monkey's makeshift port-a-strip club ($10 entry fee plus lap dance fee) in the back of the convention hall. The majority however were being purchased by terribly regular looking people (fathers, military brothers, etc.) in the most public of all places: The middle of the convention walkway. And why not? As one picture shows, with the help of a little Astroturf, a lawn chair and a prop trailer, the middle of the walk way was likely a fantastical place to have a porn star rub her everything on you. • Ron Jeremy seemed like the biggest seller.
