Wrapping Cannes

For those who followed my Cannes coverage through the blog, here's a link to a just-posted wrap piece. I didn't have a revelatory viewing experience at the festival this year—there wasn't an Inglourious Basterds or a Che, a film that felt like it would be talked about for decades to come. But Certified Copy, pictured above, probably came the closest.
One of the differences from the shorter print version of the piece is an update on the situation of invited juror Jafar Panahi, who had been jailed by Iranian authorities. He was reportedly released on bail yesterday. It's a shame it wasn't in time for him to attend.

It's okay to be a show-off.
