Just For Laughs adds to its lineup

Just For Laughs is shaping up for another killer year. Check out its latest announcements:

George Wendt, Joe Mantegna, Robert Smigel, Bob Odenkirk, Richard Roeper and special guest Mike Ditka will headline Da Bears Movie Dat Wasn’t, a live reading of the never-produced screenplay for SNL’s Super Fans. The show will also include Super Fan sketches, surprise guests and a Q&A session with Ditka all to benefit Have Dreams: Helping Autistic Voices Emerge and the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund.

My Boys’ Jamie Kaler, Michael Bunin and Reid Scott will perform a night of stand-up at new Rogers Park venue Mayne Stage. Kristen Schaal, Patrice O’Neal, John Mulaney, Hannibal Buress and more will also play at Mayne Stage.

Aziz Ansari has added a fourth show to his Dangerously Delicious Tour and both Kyle Kinane and John Mulaney will join the ALT Comedy showcase. The Red Bar Comedy Club which now boasts both Friday and Saturday shows, joins the fest as home to the TBS LOL Lounge. Studio BE in Lakeview likewise debuts at JFL this year as the home of Sketch-stravaganza: The Best of Sketchfest and improv supergroup Beer Shark Mice will play iO.

You can find local talent at this year's fest at: Alone: Chicago's Best Solo Acts at the Playground Theater, a showcase of Andy Kaufman Award winners and finalists at the Lincoln Lodge, Improvised Shakespeare Company and Cook County Social Club at iO, Messing with a Friend plus special guest at Annoyance, a ChUC show at Beat Kitchen, a rising star showcase at Jokes & Notes and much more.

I haven't put my own personal lineup for the week together yet, but I already have a feeling it's going to include a lot of hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing as I try to do the impossible and cobble together the perfect schedule. I can't wait.
