Ritz opens new resto: Deca kicks off the decade
I meandered up to the Mag Mile-located Ritz-Carlton this sunny afternoon to for the lux hotel's post-$25 million rehab debut. Sporting a contemporary art deco look, the hotel's eatery reopened with a new name, Deca (get it? decade-meets-deco). With a sensitivity to the 2010 recession economy, Deca's affordable menu items ($14 on average for a lunch entrée) should make it an attractive destination for the theater crowd or lunch meetings. As for Deca's 2010 feel, if you need to look up something during that lunch meeting Deca would be happy to lend you one of its iPads.
The hotel also made-over its opulent presidential suite and gave it a tasteful deco-esque feel. But this being the Ritz, the suite carries a pre-recession price-tag of $6,500-a-night. For reservations at Ritz-Carlton's Deca RESTAURANT + BAR (160 E Pearson St), call 312-573-5160.
