Spend a winter night with Avalon String Quartet

Looking for a classical music hit this evening, or just need some ammunition against cabin fever? Duck out of the snowy streets and check out Avalon String Quartet's special winter concert at Merit School of Music in the West Loop at 7:30pm. The phenomenal chamber music ensemble teams up with esteemed Israeli cellist, Yehuda Hanani, on a spirited jaunt through Russia with music by Arensky, Prokofiev and Beethoven's String Quartet No. 2, Op. 59, written for a Russian count and incorporating Slavic folk melodies. It's bound to be the perfect soundtrack to our own white nights.

It's okay to be a show-off.
