Animal Attraction
It’s no secret to anyone including your significant other. Your heart really belongs to your pet. This V-day weekend, shower your four-legged friends and the animal community with love by attending these events.

Puppy Love 2010
Last year’s debut, welcomed a turnout of over 50 dogs. Bring your pooch and sip some hooch with other canine lovers. Mix and mingle over $4 Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA pints and $3 greyhound cocktails. Drink specials are of course for human patrons only. Fido won’t be left out; he’ll receive a doggy treat or two.

Circus Cats
The Acro-Cats return for a one-day only affair purr-fect (We went there.) for the whole family. Maybe you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. But you can train kittens to ride skateboards, walk the high wire and jump through hoops. These cool cats will also rock on stage, playing the drums, guitar and piano. Saturday 13; Gorilla Tango Theater, 1919 N Milwaukee Ave, 773-598-4549; 4pm, 5:30pm. $15.

Vegetarian Valentine’s Party
This fund-raiser to benefit the protection of farmed animals could easily be a great matchmaking spot for fellow herbivores. Enjoy complimentary drinks, dancing and bidding on cruelty-free items in the silent auction. Proceeds support the Mercy For Animals’ org. Vegan eats will be provided by Veggie Bite, Raw Creations, Ste Martaen and Daiya. Saturday 13; Black Walnut Gallery, 220 N Aberdeen St, 866-632-6446; 8pm–11pm. Advance $35.
