James Ellroy: Quote machine
What with the news (hat tip: Movie City News) that James Ellroy has a new four-part serial appearing in Playboy beginning in this month, I figured it was worth unearthing my interview with him from 2006, in which the notoriously candid author expressed his, uh, gratitude for Brian De Palma's film version of The Black Dahlia ("I’m gonna be getting checks off this fucking thing for years"). It was the first interview I did for TOC, and if memory serves, my first question elicited only a growl and a stare. Can all press tours be like this?
