When is a review not a review? When it's Indiana Jones...
Sharp-eyed readers of the TOC blog were undoubtedly able to see through the nimble tap dance that Ben Kenigsberg, our man in Cannes, undertook this weekend in order to post his thoughts on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. As our Film editor Hank Sartin alluded to in his post about early Sex and the City reviews, posting early reviews of high-profile films tends to make publicists angry. And much like the Hulk, you would not like publicists when they are angry, nor do we. Hence, the cliffhanger-quiz format of Ben's post.
But since Indy is easily the most buzzed about film of the summer, and playing at the buzziest film festival in the world this week—word got out, despite the Damoclesian threats of publicists everywhere. Hence, reviews are hitting the Internet faster than the next round of half-nude Miley Cyrus photos.
TOC is no exception. You can read our for-real-this-time review here, and get a list of theatres showing midnight screenings.
