If you're really serious about winning the office pool this year, you've already noted that the Big Red of Cornell have locked up the first (and their first in 20 years) automatic bid for the 2008 NCAA tournament, a.k.a "the Big Dance." That's right folks, March Madness, the most wonderful time of the year, is upon us!
Locally, you can still score a seat for fourth-seeded UIC's tilt against Youngstown State at 7pm on Tuesday. Jump to the Flames site for ticket info (or ring 312-413-UIC1). The city's other entrant into the Horizon League tourney, the Loyola Ramblers, will have to travel up I-94 to battle the Panthers of UW-Milwaukee, where the Ramblers have notched just one victory. If you're not making the trek to see that one in person, the Horizon League website will be broadcasting the game from the 7pm tip-off (and if you are driving up, I suggest stopping in at Major Goolsby's beforehand for one of the best Bloody Marys to ever cross your lips). Watch the Time Out Chicago blog and to the Sports & Rec pages of the magazine for more as the Madness descends on the country.
