Must be something in our fine municipal water system this year, but many of 2007's New Year’s Eve parties were announced late—way friggin’ late. Here are a few that popped up in the last week that sounded intriguing.
Lincoln Park Young Professionals sponsor New Year’s Eve at Hard Rock Hotel which features high-end booze bar, pizza, champagne, etc. for only $125 through Ticketweb.
Yo! New Year’s Eve, downstairs at Subterranean, features local hip-hop instigators Intel, Maker, Pickel, Jose Garibaldi (the Comeups) DJ Trew (Ground Lift Magazine) and DJ Zebo (S.E.S. crew) destroying the dance floor. It’s a paltry $40 with open bar from 9pm-midnite and champagne.
For the adventurous, there’s New Year’s Eve at Soireé Bar & Bistro (2438 N. Lincoln Ave, 773.477.8880), a dining/lounge/club experience with a Parisian influence that’s so new that it's not even officially open until January 4th. The party kicks off at 8pm and $90 includes bar until 1am plus bites and beats. Beret not included.
