Loehmann's = low prices, man

Okay, I know this isn't exactly breaking news here—and this store has been available in the suburbs for awhile now—but Loehmann's has opened its first location in the city on State Street. If you're not familiar with Loehmann's, think Filene's basement or TJ Maxx, but with a better selection of designer names.

On a recent visit, I saw Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags (normally $128–$478, but $65–240 here), French Connection frocks and women's blazers (originally $88–$298, now $30–$120) and even a Catharine Malandrino cotton skirt (originally $435, now $110). The men's department is on the small side, but I managed to score some black Theory jeans for $70 (originally $135). Like I said, this isn't a ground-breaking store, or anything, but definitely one all fashion fiends should be aware of. 151 N State St (312-705-3810).
