Freebie of the Week | Chicago Botanic Garden Chef Series
Learn how to prepare scrumptious seasonal recipes while basking in the beauty of a summer garden. For this week’s Freebie, some of the city’s top chefs demonstrate how to pick and prepare fresh produce straight from the garden. The Chicago Botanic Garden invites more than 40 chefs to whip up recipes with garden-fresh fruits, veggies, herbs and spices in their summerlong weekend Garden Chef Series sponsored by Barilla and the Food Network Magazine. The demonstrations take place in CBG’s Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden. This weekend’s demonstrations feature Victor DeLeon of O’Donovan’s Pub & Restaurant on Saturday and Roger Waysok of South Water Kitchen on Sunday. Demonstrations on both days start at 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Click here to see the entire Garden Chef Series lineup. 1000 Lake Cook Rd, Glencoe (847-835-5440, www.chicagobotanic.org/chef). Demonstrations and admission free; $20-25 parking.
