MUSIC - High Places
Reared in Brooklyn, but now based in California, High Places continues to pump out charmed textural electropop. Today, the duo plays two shows in support of its latest for Thrill Jockey, Original Colors, the first of which is a free 4pm set at the Logan Square Monument. R.S.V.P. here. ART & DESIGN - Artists’ Talk: The Post Family
The Post Family's graphic designers and illustrators discuss the creativity-fueling artifacts and ephemera in their show “Collections.” Chicago Urban Art Society (2229 S Halsted St, chicagourbanartsociety.org). 3–6pm. FREE.

ART & DESIGN - Zummertapez: Lilli Carré

DANCE/KIDS - Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest: Go-Go Workshop with the Revelettes
Time-travel to swinging London with Kaara "Keeks La Reine" Kallen and Pamela "Tiggy Smalls" Paul of the Revelettes, who teach a fun, calorie-killing workout based on popular dance moves from the 1960s. Great for kids. N Glenwood Ave at W Morse Ave (no phone, glenwoodave.org). 1:30–2pm; FREE.

DANCE - Latin Street Salsa Congreso 2011: Closing Night and Cuban Timba Party
Test-drive the Afro-Cuban styles you've learned during the Congreso's weekend workshops at the Timba Party, and/or root for your favorites in the final of the Chicago Qualifier for the second annual World Latin Dance Cup, in December at the Tropicana in Las Vegas.
