Free dance tickets and indoor tango lessons at Daley Plaza

It’s nasty and wintry outside and will be again tomorrow. So generate some body heat.

Tomorrow, January 28, husband-and-wife dance stars Ruben and Sabrina Veliz are performing a short duet and offering a free tango lesson from noon–1pm indoors at Daley Plaza. For the past few weeks, they’ve been choreographing a suite of tangos for River North Dance Company called Al Sur Del Sur, to premiere February 11–13 at the Harris Theater. The first 100 people to arrive receive free tickets to the opening night performance (regularly $30–$65), River North’s Valentine’s Day weekend tradition of an evening of sexy duets.

Ruben and Sabrina Veliz have been featured at tango festivals in their native Argentina, China, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Turkey and the U.S. In 2005, the pair helped Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands celebrate the 25th year of her reign. Hot stuff, indeed.
