Chicago's 2012 summer festival schedule released
Soul Asylum at Taste of Chicago
The city's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events dropped the schedule for this summer's festivals today and there are some notable changes in there. The short version: The Taste won't feature a July 4thb WXRT concert, but rather run July 11-15. The Gospel Music Festival (June 21-24) will take place in late June at various venues on the South Side including the Ida B. Wells housing project.

29th Annual Chicago Blues Festival, June 8-10
27th Chicago Gospel Music Festival, June 21-24 (new date, location)
32nd Annual Taste of Chicago, July 11-15 (new date)
54th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show, August 18-19
34th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival, Aug 30-Sept 2
14th Annual World Music Festival, September 13-20
