Anthony Pateras performed at the Lampo series
Saturdays
Graham Foundation and Lampo—a nonprofit org for experimental music—team up for their face-melting Lampo Performance Series (Graham Foundation, Madlener House, 4 W Burton Pl; one Saturday a month, 8pm; free), monthly Saturday concerts featuring sound artists from around the world. While you’re visiting the Graham Foundation’s Madlener House, check out the displays of challenging, theory-filled contemporary art.

A Hairy Jelly glides through Shedd exhibit "Jellies."
In the Shedd Aquarium’s “Jellies” exhibit (1200 S Lake Shore Dr; 312-939-2438, sheddaquarium.org; 9am–5pm; $34.95, kids $25.95) brightly colored, bulbous display cases house groups of jellies that bewitch with pulsating rhythms and odd assortments of appendages. Learn about the truly strange creatures and why recent spells of overpopulation, stemming from climate change, are harming the oceans.
